 Zoe Maxwell (b. 2004) is a furniture designer and multidisciplinary maker born and raised in Burlington, Vermont. Zoe creates functional yet playful objects that celebrate materiality, comfort, lineage, and care. Zoe hopes to evoke warmth and comfort in work that is built to last and to grow with its user over time. Her practice is influenced by exploration and embraces experimentation to inform her design choices.

Raised in a family of woodworkers and sewers, her work explores the intersections of both practices to explore themes of familial lineage and identity. Through reflection of familial relationships and spaces, she seeks to cultivate emotional connections through her work, aiming to evoke the same feelings in her woodworking that she experiences through textiles and sewing.

Zoe is currently a junior at the Rhode Island School of Design, pursuing a BFA in Furniture Design where she strives to infuse her work with character, integrity, and care.
